Video door phone systems

See and speak to whoever is at the gate before the door opens — single flats, whole wings, or a society with a guarded main gate.

What it is

The door opens after somebody has looked

A video door phone answers a small question well: who is that, and do I want to let them in. For a flat, a villa or a small office it replaces opening the door to find out. For a housing society it does more — a gate station at the entrance, a panel per wing, and a monitor in every flat, so a delivery rider is seen and released by the resident rather than waved through by whoever is on the gate.

The engineering that matters is the wiring topology and the door hardware. A retrofit into an occupied society is decided by what riser and conduit space exists — a two-wire bus system may be the only practical answer in an old building, while a new wing can be cabled on IP and get app access on residents’ phones. The lock release at the gate has to be specified with the same care as on an access control door, including what it does when the power fails.

We survey the building, choose the topology against what can actually be cabled, install and commission it, and set up the per-flat addressing and the gate station directory. Where the society also wants access control, CCTV at the gate or an intercom to the guard, they are designed together so the resident deals with one system rather than three.

Equipment

What the installation is built from

A gate station, a monitor per flat, and a wiring topology chosen against what the building will let you cable.

Gate and entrance stationsCamera, speech panel and directory at the entrance, in a vandal-resistant housing suited to the location.
Indoor monitorsOne or more per flat, with call, view, release and an intercom call to the guard.
Two-wire bus systemsFor retrofits into occupied buildings where riser and conduit space decides everything.
IP systems and mobile app accessFor new wings, giving residents the call on their phone when they are not at home.
Guard station and intercomSo the gate, the guard and the flats are one system rather than a phone call between three.
Electric lock release and gate interfaceSpecified with its power-fail behaviour decided, exactly as on an access-controlled door.
Distributors, risers and power suppliesPer wing and per floor, sized so the last flat on the riser works as well as the first.
Call logging and snapshot on callA record of who called and an image, for the calls nobody was home to answer.

Send the drawings or the BOQ and we will price it line by line. Most enquiries start with a site visit, because the site decides the system — not the catalogue.
